In a new and innovative approach to programming, twenty-one young curators have been selected by eight arts venues nationwide to programme a festival within Brightening Air | Coiscéim Coiligh. Their collective programme is now presented as Lasta: the first national arts programme curated entirely by young people.
Under the guidance of theatre artists Maisie Lee and Fionn Foley, these young curators have worked collaboratively to deliver an ambitious programme of work which spans diverse art forms, genres and mediums.
Reflecting the diversity of modern Ireland, this pioneering project offers a unique opportunity to develop future arts programmers and producers and presents an exciting array of arts experiences to audiences of all ages from coast to coast.
Lasta is based on an original project conceived and delivered by Backstage Theatre, Longford in 2020.
